How I Read More and Enjoy It More

If you’re looking for ways to fit more books into your day-to-day life, look no further. As a life-long reader, I was dismayed when work, social media, and entertainment began to squeeze out my reading time. I decided to challenge myself and find ways to read more and enjoy it more. What I discovered were some great techniques that have helped me get back into reading and prioritize it in my life. Let me share with you what I learned and what I used on my quest to help others by building the Fiction app (more about it at the end of the article.)

Read Before You Fall Asleep

We all know that getting a good night’s sleep is essential for our physical and mental well-being. And what better way to unwind before bed than with a good book? Reading before bed can help relax your body and mind while also helping you escape from the stresses of daily life. So give this habit a try! Who knows? You may even find yourself sleeping better with a book in hand.

Always Have a Book On Deck

One of the easiest ways to read more books is by having one always ready when you have free time or need something to do while waiting in line or commuting. Keep several books nearby — in your living room, bedroom, car, office — so that when the opportunity arises you can grab one and start reading right away. This will help make sure that those moments of downtime don’t go wasted because you have nothing to do.

Think About Your TV Time As Reading Time

TV shows are great for entertainment (and some education) but if you’re trying to read more it’s probably best to limit your TV binging as much as possible. Instead of sitting down for hours in front of the television why not swap out some of that time for reading instead? Take an hour or two each day and use it as dedicated reading time instead of watching TV shows or movies — you’ll be surprised at how much progress you make in no time at all!

Download A Reading App

Technology is amazing for many things — including helping us read more! There are lots of apps available that offer thousands of eBooks from all genres including fiction, nonfiction, romance and much more so there is something for everyone. Plus once you download an app onto your device all you have to do is open it up and start browsing through titles until one catches your eye. So take advantage of technology today and download an app so you can get started on your next great read!

Take Your Time & Set Reading Goals

No matter how busy life gets there’s always going to be time set aside specifically for reading if we remember to prioritize it above other activities. Set yourself a weekly goal–whether it’s 10 pages per day or 50 pages per week — to ensure that your goal becomes reality and enjoy the process along the way! Taking our time allows us to appreciate every page we read without feeling overwhelmed by pressure from deadlines or goals we set ourselves without giving them adequate thought in advance.

Explore Different Genres

Finally, don’t forget about exploring different genres as well! Many people become comfortable sticking within their genre preferences but there’s plenty out there that could surprise us if we take the plunge into unfamiliar waters with an open mind. Pick up some poetry collections, historical biographies, autobiographies, novels –the list goes on–and see where it takes you. Who knows? You might end up stumbling upon something new entirely that captures your imagination!

Reading doesn’t have to be difficult or overwhelming; with these tips, you can easily fit more books into your everyday life in no time at all! Start small by setting simple goals such as 10 minutes per day dedicated solely towards reading; then gradually increase this amount over time until eventually reading becomes part of your daily routine. Don’t forget about exploring different genres too –you never know what kind of treasures await. So pick up a book today and get started on a literary journey like no other!

With Fiction, you can add books to your digital library, track your progress, learn your reading speed, and set goals and challenges. key features include a reading timer and book tracker, a notes function, and daily, monthly, and yearly goal-setting.
